Dear friends,

Spring has arrived and with it, with the developments over vaccines and the diminishing numbers of infections, hope for a return to full and normal life will soon become reality. Hope is a theme in scripture – looking forward with certainty to something not yet visible but promised and sure. And it is the theme of one of three talks given by J. John, the evangelist whose worldwide ministry has touched tens of thousands.

He has offered to parishes three talks – and his first, on faith, is included in our online service this weekend. It is good to have a fresh voice with a very engaging speaker, so we hope his teaching will bless and encourage you. His second, next week is on hope, and on 21 March is on love.

The Lent course continues on Wednesday evenings 7.15 for 7.30 and is already bringing huge revelation and encouragement as we grasp the big narrative of scripture, how it fits together and how it makes big personal impact on our lives – there’s still time to join in.

Sunday Services in Farleigh Parish: Ellisfield reopens tomorrow with an 8.00 am communion; next Sunday, 14th March, at 9.45 am Ellisfield is having a Mothering Sunday service with communion inside – all welcome, masks I’m afraid, social distancing, and humming along to the hymns. At Dummer at 11.15 am we are having an Open Air Mothering Sunday service in the churchyard, so we can sing outside as long as we socially distance.

So we are gradually restoring our regular pattern – more news next week as we consider next step.

Thank you for prayers for last week’s Marriage Preparation Day –one of the best we have done so far.

As always, David and Stephen are available on the phone, email, Zoom and in person at a social distance – do get in touch with us.

With our prayers for each of you to be sustained and encouraged as “normality“ is coming soon,

Every blessing,

David and Stephen
